Both are real workout loggers. The difference is what sits next to your lifts — a social feed, or your body composition, protocols and lab results.
We make Hemingway Performance, so read this with that in mind. Everything below about Hevy comes from their US App Store listing and their website, checked November 2026. Apps change; check theirs before deciding.
Hevy is a polished workout tracker on iPhone, Android and the web, with Apple Watch and Wear OS apps, a feed where you follow friends and see their workouts, routine planning, exercise videos, PRs and 1RM charts. It is free with no ads, and Pro is inexpensive. If all you want is to log lifts — especially with friends, or on Android — it is a very good choice.
We log workouts too — programs, supersets, rest timer, RPE, PRs, estimated 1RM and Beginner-to-Elite strength standards — and on Performance an engine reads your last session and sets the next one's weights. What we add is everything around the training: body composition from a smart scale or DEXA, protocol tracking with reminders, and lab PDFs that are read and trended for you, all on one timeline.

If you've been logging in Hevy, you don't start from zero. Export your workouts from Hevy as a CSV (pound exports are supported today), then in Hemingway go to Profile → Import workout history. Your sessions land in your history and personal bests; exercises we recognise are matched to our library, and anything else is kept under your own name. It works best on the web dashboard.
Free to use, no card needed.
